The Arsenal Center for the Arts offers art classes for children and adults - regardless of experience.  Students learn from professional artists as well as from their fellow students in a supportive art environment. Classes & workshops focused on ceramics, painting, printmaking, drawing, mosaics, collage, cartooning, and more are all available year-round.

Vacation Workshops provide creative experiences during school vacation. Each workshop is 2 hours long and runs from 9:30 – 12 in the morning and 12:30 – 3:00 in the afternoon.

Due to the tragic events during April Vacation Week, all students can make up their class during our Open Workshop on Saturday, April 27th from 10am - 12pm. Students are welcome to drop in for any length of time to finish their projects or complete their artwork.

We request that all students keep their work at the Center for our Student Art Show that will be exhibited at our Open Arts Day on May 4th 11am - 4pm. This show is a terrific opportunity for the Watertown community to see the wonderful artwork of our talented students.

Celebrate your child's birthday party with an art workshop at the Arsenal Center for the Arts. Workshops include mask making, t-shirt painting, clay animals and more. Cost is $175 for members, $200 for non-members, for a party of up to 10 children. Each additional child is $9. (There is a minimal surcharge of $2 per shirt for t-shirt workshops).

In the case of bad weather, daytime art classes at the Arsenal Center for the Arts are cancelled when the Watertown Public School System is closed. If the Watertown schools are running on a delayed schedule, our daytime classes will meet at the regular times. For evening cancellations, please call 617-923-0100 x309. A message will be left on the machine by 5 pm.
